                            Chief Taft Yates


Chief Yates enlisted in the U S army in 1975 and retired in 1995. He spent 19 of his 20 years in the army in various Ranger assignments. From 2002-2005 he was employed by the Kansas Department of Corrections at Ellsworth Correctional Facility. From 2002-2005 he was employed by the City of Hays as an Officer on the Hays Police Department. From 2005 through the present, Yates has been employed by Military Professional Resources Inc as a trainer. He has trained US and coalition forces in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, African Union forces in Peace Support Operation in Numerous African countries. He is currently training US and NATO service members in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He has been employed by Ellis Police Department since November of 2008. Yates is a member of the Hays Chapter of the American Legion Riders. He enjoys riding his Harley and spending time with his family; which he plans on doing a lot more of when his tour is complete.

                     Officer Christopher Krom


Officer Christopher Krom was born in Great Bend Kansas. He has lived in New Mexico and went to high school at Coronado High school in Colorado Springs Colorado. Prior to joining the Ellis Police Department in March of 2011 he worked for the Kansas Department of Corrections at Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility including three years at the rank of Lieutenant. He is married with three step children and a son.



                          Officer McCollam

Officer McCollam grew up in Denver, Colorado.  In 2010 she graduated the Police Academy in Aurora, Colorado.  She moved to Ellis in October of 2010 to start her Law Enforcement career. She enjoys outdoor activities and running 10K's.
