The Ellis Police Department strives to maintain a safe environment for the residents of the City of Ellis and to all who visit our community, by enforcing Federal, State, and Municipal laws and ordinances.  Aside from enforcing laws, the Ellis Police Department prides itself in being a community-oriented agency, working towards good public relations, and public trust.


The officers patrol the streets of Ellis to protect life, property, peace and welfare of all citizens and visitors.  The department investigates all crimes and traffic accidents that occur in Ellis.  Other obligations of the Ellis Police Department are to provide assistance to the citizens in need, respond to emergencies, help outside agencies and educate the public by answering questions concerning laws and illegal activities.

     2011 Ellis Police Department Community Forum

On October 20, 2011 the Ellis Police Department held their annual open Community Forum.  Ellis Police Officers, Ellis County Sheriff Deputes, and Kansas State Troopers were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the community of Ellis.

Officer Krom has been at KLETC in Hutchinson, Kansas for 10 weeks. His graduation date is September 19, 2011.
